View PC screen
See the PC's screen on your phone and use it with taps and the keyboard.
Start
- On Home, tap View PC screen. The phone shows Waiting for the PC.
- On the PC, PcPad asks whether your phone may see the screen. Click Allow. Nothing is shared until someone at the PC does.
- The PC’s main display appears on the phone within a second or two.
While the screen is shared, PcPad for Windows shows a bar on every page with Stop sharing. Sharing also stops when you leave the screen on the phone or put the app in the background.
Use it
Pointer and keys go over Bluetooth, like the touchpad. Without Bluetooth, the screen is view-only.
The picture works like a trackpad:
| Gesture | Does |
|---|---|
| One finger | Move the pointer |
| Tap | Click where the pointer is |
| Long press | Right-click where the pointer is |
| Two fingers up or down | Scroll on the PC |
| Pinch | Zoom the picture, up to 5×; move two fingers to look around a zoomed picture |
Left and Right under the picture stay pressed while held, for dragging. The keyboard button opens the phone keyboard to type on the PC. The rotate button turns the view sideways for a bigger picture.
Quality
The PC sends H.264 video sized for your phone, up to about 1080p, so it stays sharp without flooding the Wi-Fi. If the network falls behind, PcPad skips frames rather than lagging. PCs that can’t encode H.264 send still images instead, about ten a second.
