Wi-Fi · PcPad for Windows › Send files

Send files

Send photos and documents from the phone to the PC over Wi-Fi.

From PcPad

  1. On Home, tap Send files. The phone’s file picker opens.
  2. Pick one or more files. Each shows its progress; you can Cancel a file while it’s on its way, and Retry one that failed.
  3. Tap Send more to add others.

From any app

Use Share in Gallery, Files or any other app and choose PcPad. The files are queued and sent the same way.

You can also attach files with the paperclip in the Keyboard screen; they’re sent when you press send.

On the PC

Files are saved to Downloads › PcPad unless you choose another folder in PcPad for Windows Settings. Each one shows a notification; click it, or Show in folder on the Files page, to find the file.

  • Nothing is overwritten. If a file with the same name exists, the new one is saved as name (1).ext.
  • Every file is checked. If a file arrives damaged it’s deleted and the phone shows Retry.
  • Names are made safe for Windows: folder parts and characters Windows doesn’t allow are removed.
  • If the PC is short of space, the file is refused before anything is written.

Large files keep going while PcPad is in the background, as long as Android keeps the app running. Leave PcPad open for very large transfers.
